1948
Foundation of the Funktechnischen Labors (FTL) by Ernst Falkner von Sonnenburg at the 20.12.1948 in Eggenfelden, Bavaria, Germany. Main area is the trade and repair of radio and television devices.
1950s
Development of radio systems for driving schools and for the private sector.
1960s
Development of radio systems with selective calling (3 and 5 tones).
1970s
In the 1970s sirens were alerted via the fixed network. FTL develops radio receivers which are able to replace the landlline. Many renowned companies, operating in the radio area, are buying radio devices and receiver at FTL.
1980s
The Austrian region "Burgenland" sources receivers for siren alerting completely from FTL.
Development of an electronic solar siren for Belgium.
Continuous development and production of pheripheral devices such as alarm devices, alarm transmitter, radio status identification and alarm printer.
Development, construction and supply of ticket printer for Hungarian and Czech busses, consisting of more than 600 systems.
1989
Relocation into a bigger building.
Delivery of the first process-controlled siren control receiver.
1990
Rebranding of the Funktechnischen Labors (FTL) into SONNENBURG ELEKTRONIK GmbH at 01.07.1990.
Pilot project Belgium: Nationwide equipment of Belgium with electronic sirens and siren control centres (At the moment more than 600 sirens are operating).
2000
Rebranding of SONNENBURG ELEKTRONIK GmbH into SONNENBURG ELECTRONIC AG.
2004
Roland Westenkirchner takes over our company SONNENBURG ELECTRONIC AG as CEO. Modernisation of the production line and augmentation of the goods issuing.
2005
Introduction of the SMSA 500: Development of a device for additional alerting of fire fighters and rescue forces via the GSM network.
2010
Foundation of the SONNENBURG HOLDING GmbH.

Foundation of the Lithuanian company SONNENBURG LT UAB.
